Event to highlight business continuity planning in the Boston area

College Station, TX – June 8, 2012 – Rentsys Recovery Services, a leading provider of network-neutral data centers and disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, will host its First Annual Education Seminar & Open House on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. During the open house, Rentsys Recovery will unveil its recently upgraded data center in Billerica, Mass., which underwent an extensive power expansion project that was completed in May. Through a series of educational seminars, the event will promote the importance of business continuity planning in the Boston area and highlight real-life applications of business continuity solutions.

"This event will allow our clients to see the results of the power upgrades at our Billerica Business Recovery Center," said Walt Thomasson, managing director for Rentsys Recovery. "We made these upgrades with our clients in mind, so it's important that they see firsthand how these changes will benefit them."

Housed within Rentsys Recovery's Billerica, Mass., Business Recovery Center, the data center received a new uninterruptible power supply and generator backup systems, which together provide clients with continuous, reliable power. Rentsys Recovery also enhanced the cooling infrastructure within the data center and now provides data center clients with access to additional colocation floor space.

The expansion project was developed in partnership with a number of existing clients — some of whom will attend the Education Seminar & Open House — whose power requirements increased significantly in recent years. Attendees of the open house will have the opportunity to tour the data center, as well as one of Rentsys Recovery's mobile recovery units.

The event will also educate local businesses on how to approach business continuity planning and address the consequences of not having adequate recovery resources in place, Thomasson pointed out.

"We wanted to take this opportunity to emphasize to Boston-area businesses how important it is that they prepare adequate business continuity plans," Thomasson said. "The recent Back Bay fire and power outage is evidence of how you never know what will happen."

The education seminar will offer sessions with business continuity experts, firsthand accounts of recovery experiences from Rentsys Recovery clients and a presentation on business continuity lessons learned from the Back Bay fire. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit vendor exhibits featuring products and services including communications technology, power management solutions and business continuity planning resources.
