Ground Breaking

Electrical contractors work to install underground electrical conduits that will feed the new generator pad at Rentsys Recovery's Billerica, Mass., data center.

College Station, TX – May 1, 2012 – Rentsys Recovery Services, a leading provider of network-neutral data centers and disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, announced today that it has recently broken ground on a power upgrade to its Billerica, Mass., data center.

Rentsys Recovery is also enhancing the cooling infrastructure and the uninterrupted power supply (UPS) and generator backup systems that support client needs for continuous and reliable power.

As a result of the upgrades, Rentsys Recovery is making additional co-location floor space in the data center available to clients. The upgrade was developed in partnership with a number of existing clients who have seen their power requirements increase significantly in recent years.

"This power upgrade is enabling us to help our existing clients grow as they seek to access more computing power and meet their demanding business continuity needs," commented Walt Thomasson, managing director of Rentsys Recovery. "The upgraded data center, combined with one of New England's largest work-area recovery facilities, brings a truly complete recovery solution to our clients."

Rentsys Recovery's Billerica recovery center is in a prime location, just 24 miles outside of downtown Boston, and conveniently located near the North Billerica train stop on the MBTA Commuter Rail Lowell Line. As the first data center to be opened by Rentsys Recovery, the Billerica site has a well-established customer base and is supported by an on-site team with more than 15 years of data center and disaster recovery experience.

The Billerica site offers access to the full suite of Rentsys Recovery's services. It also serves as a ground station for Rentsys Recovery's proprietary voice and data satellite recovery solution and as a hitching post location for the industry's largest fleet of mobile trailers for disaster recovery and business continuity.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of May 2012.
