FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RENTSYS RECOVERY SERVICES
September 4, 2013
COLLEGE STATION, TX – September 4, 2013 – Members of the Greater Boston Area Association of Contingency Planners (ACP) will gather at Rentsys Recovery Services’ facility in Billerica, Mass., on Wednesday, Sept. 11, for a discussion by preservation specialist Gregor Trinkaus-Randall. During his presentation, Trinkaus-Randall will discuss how cultural and historical agencies and emergency management personnel can work together to protect Massachusetts’ cultural resources.
"As a nationwide provider of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, Rentsys Recovery Services knows how important it is to foster public and private sector collaboration," said David Tedford, who is a Boston-area Rentsys representative. "We must all work together to ensure we are better prepared as a whole."
During his presentation, Trinkaus-Randall will touch on how during and following hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Wilma and Sandy, Massachusetts lost a significant amount of cultural heritage due to lack of knowledge on how to protect and respond to damaged collections, limited or no communication with the emergency management community and lack of collaborative effort on everyone’s part.
Trinkaus-Randall will offer ACP members guidance on how they can engage with their communities in planning, mitigating and responding to disasters by working with the Coordinated Statewide Emergency Preparedness in Massachusetts (COSTEP MA) organization. COSTEP MA, of which Trinkaus-Randall is co-chair, works with Massachusetts municipalities, including Boston, to build and foster a statewide emergency planning process for the Commonwealth’s cultural resources.
To participate in the event, contact Michael Spano at firstname.lastname@example.org. RSVPs are required to ensure adequate accommodations. Attendance is $25 for non-ACP members and complimentary for ACP members.
