IT-Lifeline Reports Demand For Recovery Testing Services Increased 25 Percent Since January

Financial institutions take advantage of recovery testing capabilities

Spokane, WA - Aug. 6, 2012 – IT-Lifeline, a provider of comprehensive disaster recovery and testing solutions for the financial services industry, announced today that the company has seen a 25 percent increase in usage of its recovery testing services since January.

The IT-Lifeline Recovery Testing Program enables financial institutions to test the organization’s ability to protect data and quickly recover key IT operational systems after a system failure or other type of disaster. The program provides the ability to identify potential flaws within existing business continuity plans by applying real-life scenarios that uncover potential challenges that could prevent the financial institution from recovering key systems after a disaster or major outage has happened.

“Prior to IT-Lifeline, we had to build and maintain a separate facility to store data and recover systems which required us to invest in infrastructure and on-going system maintenance,” said Marcus Royster, SVP of information technology at Columbia Bank. “The IT-Lifeline team helped us decrease the time that it took to recover core and ancillary systems by identifying ways we could more effectively recover systems and data faster and more cost effectively.”

“Regulators are evaluating management’s ability to recognize, assess and minimize risks related to an institution’s information systems and technology,” said Matt Gerber, CEO of IT-Lifeline. “Our disaster recovery testing uncovers hidden risks so financial institutions are proactively prepared for disaster and regulators are reassured that the institution can successfully recover needed systems quickly and effectively,” said Matt Gerber, CEO of IT-Lifeline.
